In 2017, Pennsylvania legalized the production of industrial hemp for research purposes. The state approved a handful of permits and farmers were able to begin growing CBD hemp seed within Pennsylvania state borders. Once the 2018 Farm Bill was passed, more permits were issued, and growers could begin cultivating hemp for reasons beyond research purposes.
Today, Pennsylvania’s hemp industry continues to thrive. Now is an opportune moment for farmers to invest in hemp and make their way into rapidly growing industry. But in order to do so, you must maintain compliance with the guidelines established by Pennsylvania’s Industrial Hemp Program.
