The product line is called “Verywell” and includes three different flavors – Grapefruit Tarragon, Strawberry Hibiscus, and Blueberry Lavender.

What Does this Mean for Colorado Hemp Producers?

This is all very good news for Colorado hemp producers. Seeing a company like Coors enter the CBD market may influence other food and beverage processors. In other words, they may become willing to take the same risks. This would mean that farmers growing CBD seed in Colorado would have more buyers they could sell their hemp to.

Right now, the FDA prohibits CBD infused food from being introduced to interstate commerce.

But in Colorado, the Department of Public Health and Environment has a different stance. Their website states, “We regulate CBD derived from industrial hemp as either a food ingredient or as a nutritional supplement.”

Operators selling food products containing industrial hemp must simply meet a list of state requirements. Among others, this includes not exceeding allowable THC levels and including a “not tested by FDA for efficacy and safety” statement on labels.
