Since Arkansas has not established their own regulatory program, they are still operating under the 2014 Farm Bill. This will likely change once federal hemp regulations are available later this fall. The 2019 growing season was quite profitable for local farmers with an average of $700,000 in gross income. The interesting thing about their state laws is that they actually forbid the sales of dry hemp flower to the public even if it’s produced locally. This may hinder sales and could be a missed opportunity for both the state and the farmers.
