The country continues to allow hemp cultivation with certain legal restrictions and is currently trying to pass some of the more progressive laws compared to others. Hemp-derived CBD products are also legal as long as they contain 0.3% THC or less. This provides a great opportunity for local hemp farmers to tap into the lucrative CBD industry.

India’s Regulations for Growing CBD Seeds & Clones
The Indian Industrial Hemp Association recently received $150 million from investors and is currently trying to pass more progressive hemp farming laws. Industrial hemp is already legal to grow but must contain 0.3% THC or less. Since the majority of the wild hemp that grows in India contains more than the legal limit, this organization is trying to raise the federal limit to 1.5% THC. India’s Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Acts of 1985 allowed state governments to establish their own policies for commercial hemp cultivation.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”3183″ img_size=”250 x 425″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”3184″ img_size=”350 x 350″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]
Regions of India Where CBD Hemp Is Grown
Hemp grows naturally throughout India, making it a great resource for all the different generations that have lived there. Unfortunately, the wild hemp that grows in India usually has more than 0.3% THC making these varieties illegal to cultivate commercially. There are currently only two states that have established government-regulated hemp cultivation: Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. Himachal Pradesh is currently establishing its legal framework.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]
